June 4-7, 2017 marks the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Midway, a major turning point of World War II. Though the major naval battle itself was waged hundreds of miles out to sea, the famous air battle took place within three miles of Midway Atoll, located about halfway between Japan and California.
Join us for a special commemoration on June 5, 2017, streamed live from Midway Atoll within Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument to honor the veterans of the battle that took place there seventy five years ago. The ceremony will be livestreamed to audiences at events around the country to educate and inspire people about the history and importance of the Battle of Midway, what it means today, and what it means for the future.
